Keeping busy this October half term

With October coming to an end, for many parents, this means the start of half term and the need to find ways to keep the kids entertained!

A fun way to spend some time in nature is creating homes for wildlife. With many animals hibernating during the autumn and winter, creating animal shelters is a great way to keep busy whilst helping your local wildlife. This can be as simple as creating piles of twigs or leaves, putting plant pots on its side, to creating little boxes which children can decorate.

Or how about having a scavenger hunt. You could go on a walk, and create a list with different items to find, whether that’s a red car, a post box, or a dandelion. With our skittle bottles, you can always have a hot drink with you when out and about.

Building a den is a great fun family activity. Whether this is outside using twigs or branches, or inside with cushions and blankets, dens are great for children of all ages. Why not look at this article by woodland trust for different dens to try building both indoors and out.

Nothing is better than coming back inside to a hot drink. This delicious homemade hot chocolate recipe is perfect for a hot drink which would go perfectly with our skittle mugs.

Our favourite thing about half term is the memories you can create, and the photos you can take. Our skittle frames are a perfect way to store the photos, and with an easy magnet clasp, it is even easier for the kids to get involved!

It would be great to know if you do any of these activities, or to hear about your favourite half term activities. You can let us know in a comment below.
